Outdoors Summer Activities for the Family |

Summer is coming! I know, I know, not nearly as cool as Game of Throne's Stark House motto, but it's certainly more fun and optimistic. Personally, I'm a huge fan of summer, and I've taught my kids to be as enthused about their vacations and spending time outside the house as I am. Helping the KidsA child's mind is an amazing thing, they can get excited and happy about so many things and I've found that having a great summer is all about planning ahead your activities and losing yourself in them. I’ve come up with some of my favorite summer activities so that any other struggling parents can pull an amazing vacation out of nowhere for everyone, so let’s get started! Get to The Nearest Swimming PoolA hot summer day and a cool, refreshing pool are like pasta and meatballs, or vanilla ice cream and Nutella: while amazing on their own, they're so much better together. Mind you, it doesn't have to be a pool it could be a nearby lake, river or beach. Basically, spend quality time with your family! Try learning a new swim stroke at the pool, go tubing if you're at a river or maybe try water-skiing at the nearest lake, it doesn't really matter if you put your own twist in it and make a day of it. Extra points if you get some ice-cream, it's perfect for a hot summer day. If you decide to go to a swimming pool, you can use this neat website to find the closest one to you Electric Scooter Races in the ParkThis one is a personal favorite of mine. I love going to the park, but we recently put a little twist into our routine: we take our folding electric scooter and have races around the park. These are quite simply said, amazing. There are kids folding electric scooter models and even fast electric scooters for adults like those from Zoom! Basically, we would prepare some food the day before and have some fun at the park doing the usual things: play catch, visit the monkey bars but then we'd finish it off with some electric scooter races. We'd stick to the roads but I’d sometimes cheat a little and take shortcuts through the grass. I always let my little ones win but thanks to electric scooters our trips to the park are extra fun now. Luckily, many local teams play in the summer and splurging some money on some tickets and food is enough to make for a memorable day. Some of the best moments I remember spending with my dad were at the baseball games, but there's something for everyone: it could be volleyball, soccer, tennis or even outdoor car tracks. Ask your kids what they'd enjoy, and who knows, you might even discover a hidden hobby yourself! That’s All Folks! There you have it! Those are my top three outdoors summer activities, as always feel free to put your own personal twist to any of these activities, if you’re not really a sports fan maybe you could consider a short trip to a national park or some other location you’ve always wanted to visit. The possibilities are endless, the important thing is to make sure your kids are smiling and tired at the end of the day!
